We are excited to announce that sophomore, Isabella Trasolini has been accepted to two Governor's Schools. Isabella was accepted to the School of Scientific Models and Data Analysis at East Tennessee State University and the School of Sciences and Engineering at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville! Congratulations and we are so proud of you!
Ice Cold Drinks will be on sale during 1st and 2nd break this Friday! Drinks are 1$ and will be sold in front of the student entrance.
Dyer County Students- the key club needs your help! Starting this week, we will be collecting food items for our upcoming service project. We will collect different items each week for the next four weeks. The class that turns in the most items for that week will win a pizza party. We will have a new winner at the end of each week. Starting on Friday, February 17th and continuing until the 24th, we will be collecting boxes of granola bars, variety packs of chips, fruit cups, and pop-tarts. Please help us in giving back to our Dyers County community and bring your items to your 1st period classes!
FCCLA and its 200,000 members will celebrate “National FCCLA Week” on February 13-17. The theme of this year’s celebration is “unlimited possibilities” in recognition of the many things FCCLA students and their advisors represent. During National FCCLA Week, DCHS members plan and carryout activities that represent the organization.
The theatre arts skinny block presents, “Game of Tiaras” this Friday evening at 7pm in the DCHS theatre. Admission in free to everyone. Check with your teacher to see is he or she is giving extra credit for attendance.
On Monday Feb 20th at 6:00 PM, the Dyer County FFA will host a bowling party at JC Bowling Lanes in honor of national FFA week. All members are invited to attend. The price will be 5$. If you have any questions please contact an officer or advisor.
Juniors, DCHS is hosting a college planning night on Thursday, February 23rd, from 6:00-8:00 PM. You are not going to want to miss this! Doors will open at 5:30 PM. Not only will there be free pizza and drinks, there will be college representatives from many different colleges, as well as speakers to explain about the college process and financial aid. You’ll also have a chance to win a scholarship, as at the end of the night three $500 scholarships will be given away to junior students in attendance. So arrive early and bring your parents or guardians!
We are excited to announce that DCHS is offering after school remediation and enrichment. Facilitators will be available in the library on Monday through Friday mornings, beginning at 7:10 AM; Monday-Thursday in the afternoon, from 3:10 PM- 4:00 PM. Instruction will be available for school work/ study groups/ ACT prep. This opportunity is available for all students at no charge, there is no need to sign up, and students can simply show up ready to work.
Any senior who is interested in taking ACT prep please sign up with Ms. Cheryl in the Guidance Office.
