Dyer County High School is the only High School in the Dyer County Schools System. DCHS is located on the outskirts of beautiful downtown Newbern. Founded in 1972, Dyer County High School has been housed in three separate facilities in the city of Newbern. The current building opened it's doors in 2002 as a state-of-the-art facility with technological advances geared toward making the educational process better for both teachers and students. The sprawling campus houses the school building itself with four wings of classrooms separated into English/History, Math/Science, Career and Technical Education, and Agriculture/Fine Arts. In addition to the main building the DCHS campus supplies top notch athletic facilities for every varsity sport (except Bowling), a newly completed 400+ seat theater, agricultural barn and livestock fields, and a fully functioning JROTC Training Course. Off-campus and located on Highway 77 is the former National Guard Armory building, which now houses classes daily for the JROTC Program.
