After graduation from college, I began my teaching career at STARQuest Acadamy (Alternative School) in Benton, IL. I taught there for a year and a half. I then moved to my hometown, Johnston City, and taught fourth grade for 8 years. In 2008, I moved to Jackson, TN and taught math at Jackson Careers and Technology, then West Middle school for a total of five years. I was then offered a job teaching and coaching at Rend Lake College and completed a semester of teaching math and coaching softball there. During this time I also worked as a national presenter for the Bureau of Education and Research.  I have now been in Dyer County for three years and I teach Algebra I. Last year, I was voted Teacher of the Year at DCHS. I love working at DCHS.

I also coach softball and volleyball, and have been since 2000. In that time, I have had the pleasure to work with wonderful student- athletes. I have proudly coached four high school volleyball teams to the TSSAA State Tournament (Madison Academic 2009-2012) and two middle school teams (Johnston City Middle School) to the SIJHSAA State Tournament in Illinois prior to that.  In my time at Dyer County, I have helped, both a DCHS Volleyball (2015) and DCHS Softball team (2014) compete in their first ever sub- state games.

During the summer, I teach wellness for the UPward Bound program at Dyersburg State Community College. I have been with this program for 3 summers; this summer wiill be my fourth. I am a group fitness instructor at Omega Strength and Fitness.
