I taught for 11 years in Kentucky in three different high schools -- Trigg County, Graves County, and Paducah Tilghman. I taught one year at Ripley High School last year. I am also an adjunct professor in English at Dyersburg State Community College.

I was born in Illinois, lived in Indiana for a couple of years but spent most of my life in Murray, Kentucky. My first career was in newspaper journalism as a reporter, copy editor, and section editor. My second career has been education, and I consider it a calling from God. I have two children in Kentucky: a daughter who is a first-year medical student at Pikeville Medical College and a son who is a senior in high school. I moved to Dyersburg a year ago and love my new home. I have three almost step-children: two girls in high school and a boy in elementary school. I love writing and have been working on a book for several years now. I also love bicycling and traveling with my fiancee.
